I create art to express myself, often tackling current events and
issues, or just because I am interested in something. Creating art is a way for me to release what I’m feeling in a way that can be understood by others. I’m often inspired by real life scenes, and find intrigue in often overlooked parts of the world. I transition through mediums frequently, but sculpture has held my interest for a while now. Its hands-on feeling and versatility for techniques has allowed me to create similar pieces in vastly different ways. Recently I have made sculptures with a 3D pen, out of cardboard, and out of trash. When working, I enjoy creating experimental pieces to see if a concept or idea is viable before committing to something larger. I often focus on detail, generally working on a smaller scale to ensure that I can properly give the entire piece my attention. I want people to reflect on my pieces after seeing them and think about the issue I am covering, potentially doing their own research or taking action.
